Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. At the age of five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma was only six when she made the decision to be an actor. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. By the time she turned 10 years old, Emma took part in a variety of Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The film adaptation to J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for the very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. After eight consecutive auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast to play the three leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film set records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. The film received praise from critics, as were the performances of its three new actors. The highly distributed British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma received five nominations for her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of the Film.
